The Transcon in Kansas - BNSF around Lebo

If you like to see the high cars rolling at speed, there are few better places to be than around Lebo, 94 miles west of Kansas City, alongside BNSF's main line between Chicago and Los Angeles known as the Transcon.  All BNSF freight trains from Kansas City to Southern California, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas run through Lebo.  This video shows over 24 hours of awesome action on BNSF's Emporia Subdivision around Lebo in October of 2004.  167 minutes.  2 tape/ 2 DVD set.  The DVD on this program has the option of being watched with or without narration.

CSX and NS at Princeton, IN

At Princeton, Indiana, twenty eight miles north of Evansville, the busy CSX Chicago to Nashville main, the former Chicago and Eastern Illinois, crosses the ex-Southern Railway, Louisville to St. Louis line of Norfolk Southern.  The two tracks run on the same grade through town before they cross on the southeast side of Princeton, offering many places to catch all of the action in Princeton - as many as 50 trains a day.  This video shows all of the neat action at Princeton for over twenty four hours in October of 2004.  2 tape/ 2 DVD set.  2 hours, 47 minutes.  The DVD on this program has the option of being watched with or without narration.

UP's ex-MP & SP Arkansas Mains

In early 1998 Union Pacific converted its former MP and SP main lines through Arkansas to directional running.  The ex-Cotton Belt main handled southbounds between the upper Midwest and Texas, while the ex-MP main handled mostly northbounds.  BNSF trains run on these lines - a condition of the UP-SP merger.  This program shows 24 hours of action on each of these lines in October 2004.  All kinds of leased, borrowed, and run-through power is on these trains.  There are few lines in the country that handle more chemicals, plastic pellets, autos, and auto parts than UP's Arkansas mains.  1 tape/2 DVD set.  2 hours, 18 minutes.  The DVD on this program has the option of being watched with or without narration.

CSX Mountain Sub - the Historic West End

This video shows the trains and awesome action on CSX's Mountain Subdivision, the B&O's historic original crossing of the Alleghenies west of Cumberland, Maryland, formerly known as the West End, in April of 2005.  With manned helper districts, two manned towers, and many color position light signals still in use, this line at times looks like a relic of the 1960's.  The Mountain Sub today still handles many coal trains and one merchandise train each way and features CSX's biggest and newest power.  104 minutes.  The DVD on this program has the option of being watched with or without narration.

Norfolk Southern's Harrisburg Line

This video shows 24 hours of fast paced action on NS's Harrisburg Line, the former Reading Company's Lebanon Valley Branch between Reading and Harrisburg, in April of 2005 including several Canadian Pacific overhead rights trains.  Since NS took over the this line they have grown the business and this program will show you how traffic on this line has fared after nearly six years of NS ownership.   91 minutes.  The DVD on this program has the option of being watched with or without narration.

The North End of the D&H in 2005

The North End of the former Delaware and Hudson between Saratoga Springs and Rouses Point, now part of the Canadian Pacific rail system, sees more freight trains today than it has in the past 30 years.  This program shows the trains and operations on the Canadian Main Line of CP's Northeast U.S. Service Area, the former D&H main between Saratoga Springs, 37 miles north of Albany, New York and Rouses Point on the Canadian border in August of 2005.  CP and Amtrak rains were videotaped for portions of four days and two nights at many locations on this scenic line.  70 minutes.  The DVD on this program has the option of being watched with or without narration.

CSX at Point of Rocks

Historic Point of Rocks, Maryland, 65 miles west of Baltimore and 43 miles northwest of Washington, D. C. by rail, is one of the most historic rail junctions in this country.  Here, the Baltimore and Ohio's original main line from Baltimore, joins up with the B&O line from Washington.  This CSX line from Baltimore is now appropriately named the Old Main Line Subdivision.  The Old Main Line sub meets the Metropolitan Sub from Washington in front of the equally historic Point of Rocks station.  This program shows over twenty fours hours of CSX, Amtrak, and Maryland Rail Commuter or Marc train action at and around Point of Rocks in April of 2005.  130 minutes.  The DVD on this program has the option of being watched with or without narration.

NS Chicago Line in Western Ohio

This program shows all the action for over 24 hours on one of the busiest segments of track on the whole Norfolk Southern system - their former Conrail Chicago line in northwest Ohio between Butler, just across the border into Indiana and Wauseon, Ohio, in June of 2005.  This program is an in-depth look at what is arguably the best-run railroad in the U. Canadian National's Drummondville Sub

The Drummondville Sub between St. Hyacinthe, east of Montreal, and Quebec City is part of CN's main line between Montreal and Halifax, and Via Rail's Windsor to Quebec City Corridor.  The limit for certain passenger trains on part of this line is a cool 100 miles an hour and CN likes to run two mile long freight trains between Joffre Yard, south of Quebec City, and Montreal.  This neat program shows over 24 hours of action on this line in August of 2005.  65 minutes.  The DVD on this program has the option of being watched with or without narration.

Midwest Regionals 2005
