Canadian Pacific Around Thunder Bay

The CP main line both sides of Thunder Bay on Lake Superior contains some fascinating railroading.  The once two track main line west of Thunder Bay to Winnipeg carried the most tonnage of any line in Canada until the 1980's.  The CP line east of Thunder Bay along the North Shore of Lake Superior was the most difficult part of CP's transcontinental line to build.  This video shows a few trains along the incredibly scenic North Shore of Lake Superior and then 24 hours of action west of Thunder Bay on the climb up from the Lakehead in Oct. 2001.  70 minutes.
