CSX's Spectacular River Line DVDWith high bridges, tunnels, miles of river running, and many spectacular overlooks, CSX's River Line along the West Shore of the mighty Hudson River between northern New Jersey and Selkirk, New York is arguably the most scenic rail line in the East with a decent traffic density. Canadian Pacific Around Thunder Bay DVDThe CP main line both sides of Thunder Bay on Lake Superior contains some fascinating railroading. The once two track main line west of Thunder Bay to Winnipeg carried the most tonnage of any line in Canada until the 1980's. BNSF North Dakota Main DVDBurlington Northern Santa Fe's transcon main line west of Minot, ND is classic prairie railroading with a steep climb out of the Souris River valley and high speed railroading across the undulating prairie beyond and includes the 1792 foot long trestle over Gassman Coulee. Wings on UP's Kansas Funnel DVDWith 70 trains in 24 hours the Union Pacific's Kansas Sub between Kansas City and Topeka is the second busiest line on the UP system. This line is the neck of a funnel as trains from three busy routes - the main line from North Platte, the Golden State Route from El Paso, and the Denver Line converge at Topeka for the run to Kansas City. The Road to Memphis II - NS & CSX DVDThis video shows 24 hours of action on both the Norfolk Southern and CSX lines into Memphis in June of 2001. Norfolk Southern was videotaped between Sheffield, AL and Corinth, MS, and CSX between Dickson and Bruceton in west-central Tennessee. With their east-west orientation these scenic lines are far from being level. Both single-track lines have seen big increases in traffic in recent years. With long trains and a mix of manifest, intermodal, and unit trains, the NS and CSX roads to Memphis put on quite a show. 114 minutes.
